Ian Guenther, moved to the Seattle area from Philadelphia, PA. After a 9-year hiatus, Ian decided to pick up a racket again and begin to work on his game and improve his skill level in an easy going and accepting environment set forth by STA. Ian came across STA while searching for local tennis organizations and immediately was drawn to it's perfect mix of both social and competitive play all while embracing and promoting LGBTQ inclusiveness! Having a desire to become more active within the gay community and wanting to bring about awareness of unity in our diversity, Ian believes volunteering with STA allows him to succeed with this goal and also involve others in the process.
Profile coming soon.
I’m a Seattle native, and recently restarted playing tennis after a 15+ year hiatus. My favorite shot to hit is a lob that goes higher than any reasonable lob should ever go. I’m looking forward to fostering an active LGBTQ+ tennis community here in Seattle.
Oh, and I currently help to manage STA’s social media with JR, and Wally.
Originally from Venezuela, Ron is proud to call Seattle home after living in Sydney and Melbourne for 14 years. He is passionate about tennis, creative, and enjoys coming up with ideas to improve processes and member engagement. Ron's tireless energy drives him to get things done, especially when planning work is involved. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, working out at F45, trashy TV shows, and spending time with his 9-year-old spoiled pug, Frida.
I'm excited to be getting back into the sport I've loved since middle school! I'm originally from Tennessee and played through college, but hadn't picked up a racquet in years before finding STA, thanks to a friend. STA has been such a welcoming community, and it's been a pleasure to get more involved as we continue working to create inclusive and competitive experiences for everyone.
Tennis isn’t my first love, but it’s giving volleyball a run for its money! Who knew chasing a fuzzy yellow ball could be so addictive? From epic rallies to unforgettable laughs, STA has already brought me amazing memories and plenty of challenges (hello, mental toughness!). My goal? To help build a space where everyone feels welcome, enjoy some tennis, and leave with great connections—and maybe a killer forehand too!
I’m always down for tennis! It's been an up and down journey (best of 5!?) but I’m enjoying the ride. Tennis has given me so much (exercise, connection, challenge etc.) and I hope I can bring some of that joy to more people. Excited to support our tennis community and create more opportunities for growth and play in Seattle!
